1928 Bentley Sports Tourer - commissioned painting
This painting was commissioned by the family of the owner as a birthday gift.
This remarkable Bentley, known as the 'Family Car', was owned by the family for some 18 years in the 1930's and 40's. It then changed hands several times before becoming part of a private collection in Argentina, where it languished for many years.
After a long search by the current owner, it was purchased and returned to the UK for restoration and has since been enjoyed on many tours and travels.
Executed in Oils onto a specially fabricated Aluminium panel, the painting shows the car standing proudly under the winged ‘B’ emblem.
The composition also features a timeline which shows the key events in the car's history.
This was etched into the aluminium along with the a title and description.
The areas representing the brightwork of the car were polished prior to painting and are shaded with Oil glazes - these subtly catch the light, bringing the image to life.
A black tray frame completes the picture.
